Is Grim Dawn easy to get into? ›

Normal is easy, with some difficulty curves thrown in with the out-of-way-areas and dungeons that are outside the story progression. Veteran is essentially normal with harder enemies but better drops and faster leveling.

There are nine distinct character classes in the game. Six from the base game (Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist, Shaman). Two from the Ashes of Malmouth expansion (Inquisitor, Necromancer). One from the expansion, The Forgotten Gods (Oathkeeper).

Necromancer is a mastery in Grim Dawn, added by the Ashes of Malmouth expansion. They make heavy use of vitality-damaging magic and summoning skeletal minions, but they also use ranged or sometimes even melee weapons in combat.

If you want a deep dive into the story, side missions, exploring, lore and maxing your character, it's 60+ hours.

There's tons of content included in the base game but to get the most out of Grim Dawn I'd recommend grabbing both of the main DLC's. Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods both offer new masteries (classes) new campaign content and in the case of forgotten gods new endless content.

At level 10, you will have the option of selecting a second Mastery to complement your initial choice, creating a Dual-Class character.

What you do is go back to the character selection screen and change the difficulty to Elite and then yes, do it all over again. b) There is no actual conclusion to the story. The game balancing is a major step backwards. Enemies have always scaled in the game; just slightly differently in the latest patch probably because of the change to make it possible for people to get up to L100 in Normal or Elite difficulties.

Grim Dawn can be tackled on three increasingly challenging difficulties: Normal, Elite and Ultimate. Each subsequent difficulty is unlocked by defeating the Final Boss of the game on the previous difficulty (ex. to unlock Elite Difficulty, you must first complete Normal Difficulty).

The chance to critically strike is PTH - 90. If you have 95% PTH, you will have a 5% Critical Chance . If you have 110% PTH, you will have a 20% Critical Chance. Critical Strikes appear in different multipliers, depending on the PTH Threshold.
